Wow Cacao was founded by Pam Thornton, a cocoa trader who has spent over 40 years working on farms across the world — evaluating crops, building supply chains, and supplying some of the world’s best chocolate makers. This is not a brand built around a trend. It comes from a lifetime working with cacao.
There is more to cacao than chocolate.
Most people know cacao as the thing chocolate is made from. Very few know it is a fruit, that it has a light tropical pulp, or that this pulp has been valued for centuries. We set out to change that. Wow Cacao uses the fruit pulp that is almost always discarded in cocoa farming and turns it into something people actually want to enjoy.

Our cacao comes from the coastal regions of Guayas and Santa Elena in Ecuador, near Guayaquil. This land was not deforested to grow cacao — it was semi-arid farmland that became agriculturally productive when the government opened a series of irrigation canals in the 1990s. The farms we work with have been in their families for generations. We know them well.

We are proud to bring this amazing fruit to the UK in a whole new form. We take frozen cacao juice, dilute it, and create Wow Cacao, a hydrating drink with a unique, tangy flavour that is perfect for the whole family.
